Christine Heller creates portraits, murals and installations that reflect her concern for social justice, including a 40-foot mural depicting the plight of Syrian refugees at SUNY Oneonta, Oneonta, NY as well as three installations protesting the Iraq War. She has painted murals for Roanoke College, Salem, VA, the Munson Museum of Art, Utica, NY, the Urban Art Fund, Denver, CO, and the Key West Montessori Charter School, Key West, Fl.
She published a limited-edition portfolio of lithographic prints, Women Vote!, which celebrates suffragists who fought for 70 years to secure the vote for women. This portfolio is in the collections of Smith College, The New York Public Library, Princeton University’s Graphic Arts Collection, Johns Hopkins University, Vassar College, George Mason University, University of Delaware, Denison University and Carlton College.
In 2020, she was awarded a Keep NYS Creating Grant from NYFA/NYSCA..
She was attended residencies at Sculpture Space, Utica, NY; Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Amherst, VA; The Studios at Key West, Key West, FL; and was a visiting artist at Roanoke College, Salem, VA.
